6th World Congress: Hong Kong, 2008

WCVD Hong Kong 2008
The first time for such an event in Asia, the 6th World Congress of Veterinary Dermatology attracted a record number of scientific submissions and also the highest number of delegates for any Congress.

1190 delegates from over 50 countries worldwide converged on the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre for four days of lectures featuring a diverse range of topics in both the Continuing Education Programme and the Plenary Sessions which focused on six themes: Immunology, Therapy, Infection, Parasitology, Otology and Skin Biology.

Delegates had many scientific options with seven concurrent sessions including lecture tracks focusing on equine dermatology and dermatopathology; wetlabs in parasitology, dermatopathology and otology; and interactive workshops. Many veterinarians from the region attended the comprehensive Continuing Education Programme which was translated into Japanese, Korean and Putonghua.

The highlight of the extensive Social Programme was the Oriental Extravaganza, where the Japanese Taiko Drum Performance set the stage for a wonderful night of food and entertainment from around the region.
