European Society of Veterinary Dermatology

European Society of Veterinary Dermatology

Founded: 1984

he ESVD represents a broad range and diversity of veterinarians with a global membership base. Its primary objective is to promote veterinary dermatology in all animal species, in both clinical and non-clinical fields; to improve standards of diagnosis and treatment in veterinary dermatology and to encourage the exchange of information and to contribute to the research and teaching of veterinary dermatology at post-graduate level in Europe. Membership is open to all veterinarians who are interested in veterinary dermatology.

The ESVD organises courses and workshops aimed at providing a basis of advanced level dermatology. Species orientated courses build on this knowledge in special areas of the discipline. ESVD supports research by providing grants and supports education of veterinarians from developing countries through travel grants and the provision of continuing education. Lately the ESVD offers its members open access to a library with more than 20 veterinary journals to further improve access to scientific information.

In addition, the ESVD jointly organises an Annual Congress in conjunction with the European College of Veterinary Dermatology (ECVD) and is a co-sponsor of the World Congress of Veterinary Dermatology, an international meeting held every 4 years.
