The Global Veterinary Dermatology Education Group (GVDEG) is an independent international group of veterinary dermatologists who are committed to improving the knowledge and practice of veterinary dermatology in underserved areas around the world.
Our ultimate objective is to enable veterinarians in underdeveloped areas to recognize, diagnose and manage the most common and prevalent dermatological diseases in their areas. We aim to accomplish this through direct hands-on practical demonstrations of proper techniques of the dermatologic examination and common diagnostic procedures supported by lectures and interactive discussions on principles of pattern recognition, therapy and disease prevention. In addition, we will use web-based educational sessions for more didactic subject matter. Our long term goal is to identify, educate, empower and support local veterinarians with a keen interest in dermatology and willingness to lead local ongoing efforts in education and advancement of veterinary dermatology.
