Internships
Internships are most commonly a set one-year employment, usually taking place in a referral private practice or university hospital, providing exposure to a referral case population. The goal of an internship is to provide qualified veterinarians further clinical expertise and training in veterinary dermatology. Internships are not formalized training programs leading to a qualification, and the extent of supervision, possible research training exposure and tutoring vary between institutions around the world offering internships. Rotating internships aim to expose the intern to working in multiple services in the hospital during the year whilst in a discipline specific internship program the intern works in one specific service. Internship supervision and mentoring is generally provided by residents and diploma holding clinicians. We recommend that you review this information from their websites listed below.
